Of all the 48 countries in Asia, only 8 countries have participated so far. They are Bangladesh, UAE, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and now the 2023 tournament, Nepal.
All the countries have hosted the tournament except Nepal, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
So far since the tournament’s inception in 1984, India has the highest tournament wins with 7 wins, followed by Sri Lanka; 6wins and Pakistan 2wins. Bangladesh has never won the tournament.

So far, Bangladesh has hosted the tournament the most. Furthermore, India has reached the final stage ten times out of a total of fifteen finals and won 7 titles (although they skipped participation in one edition). Following closely behind India is Sri Lanka, with six Asia Cup victories, while Pakistan has emerged as champions twice. The 2023 Asia Cup will be the 16th edition of the tournament and will be played in both ODI and T20I formats. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. A total of 13 matches will be played. The ODI matches will be played in Pakistan (4 matches), while the T20I matches will be played in Sri Lanka (9 matches).
